About James Kerr

I write and build around a simple question: how do people and teams keep useful agency as AI changes the shape of knowledge work?

What I work on.

I have spent a lot of time around the machinery of large organisations: incentives, processes, knowledge bottlenecks, half-visible operating models, and the awkward gap between strategy and what actually happens.

AI makes that gap more interesting. It gives individual people much more leverage, but it also creates new blind spots for teams. My work is about turning that leverage into systems people can understand, repeat, and trust.

The public version of that thinking lives in The Wayfinder Notes. The product version is the operating tooling I am building around AI-native work. Online, I also publish as JCT Kerr.
